Forget all I said in the last post and you might even be able to convince me of being superstitious now - but our return travel plans are now completely stuffed. Christmas Day at the Upland Goose hotel in Stanley is a distinct possibility.
Having managed to get out of the Antarctic with no delays and problems with bad weather - it turns out to be the situation in the UK that affects us. A combination of the fog at home, winds in the wrong direction here in the Falklands and an MOD flight in need of some repair apparently, means we ain't going anywhere anytime soon.
P and the little ones were also delayed yesterday by some ejit (sp?) who jack-knifed a lorry on the M11. End result - they miss their flight and end up waiting for a flight on Friday morning.
Meanwhile who knows when I will get out of here. Optimistically it'll be Saturday, meaning home on Sunday and having to try and find another flight to NI at some stage.
However, it could be worse. A wise man once told me to learn to be content whatever circumstance you find yourself in. So I'll give that a go.

Never mind the Christmas goose! What about "fatten those Christmas penguins" ... just in case the fog and those winds don't change! Weather beautiful here today so ther won't be a problem ... honest!!
Andrew
It's time to put that weather altering doomsday machine into action. Now I know you said don't mention it and all being a top secret project you've been working on for BAS / ESA / NASA/ CIA /FBI /M&S / C&A and B&Q etc and this being an open internet forum (haven't got a clue what that means) but needs must as the devil drives. A wise man with beard once told me "if you have a weather altering machine that can get rid of fog at stansted airport and alter the winds around the flakland islands just do it and hang the consequences!" I know his spelling wasn't great but he had a point. And actually he didn't say that , that is actually a lie.
Anyway it all seems like Liz and I will get across ok , no delays reported at Bristol. I've got to think that there are probably alot of people like yourself trying to get home and there'll be alot of effort going into plane fixing and exploring flight paths so fingers crossed. I so hope you make it. Difficult for P et al to know what to do.We're thinking of you chin up and what man with beard did say about being happy with your lot makes alot of sense to me so stick with that. Wise words, softly spoken were a speciality.
